Oral pain is no fun for kids—or parents

We can usually schedule a same day appointment and relieve the pain.

We provide emergency pediatric dentist treatments:

  • Tooth ache (stop infection from growing or causing swelling of the face)
  • Gum swelling, Gum abscess
  • Fractured teeth
  • Tooth Injury resulting in teeth getting knocked out
  • Chipped or loose tooth due to trauma
  • Restore or replace fillings, crowns, etc. that have come loose.

Kids’ Dental First Aid for Common Issues

Here are things you can do to ease pain and limit damage for some emergencies:

Tooth Knocked Out (with root attached)

Baby Teeth: Leave it out and apply pressure on the socket to stop any bleeding. Call for a follow up appointment. Never attempt to put back in for fear of damaging the adult tooth bud.

Adult / Permanent Teeth: Hold the tooth by the crown but be careful not to touch the root. If possible, rinse off any debris without rubbing and then place the tooth back in the socket and call immediately. If unable to place the tooth back in the socket, place in a small container of milk and call your dentist immediately.

Chipped or Loose Tooth from Trauma

See if you can find the piece that has broken. Call as soon as possible.

Cuts / Laceration

If the cut is outside the lip, it’s best to see your pediatrician or emergency physician. If the cut is inside the lip apply pressure with gauze or a clean, moist cloth.

Call as soon as possible.
